Legendary NHRA Funny Car driver John Force has expressed mixed feelings about Thursday's announcement that his daughter, Courtney Force, is retiring from the sport.
A Father's Pride
In a statement, Force lauded his daughter's accomplishments, saying, "I'm so proud of everything she has achieved in her career. She's a champion in every sense of the word." He praised Courtney's determination, work ethic, and passion for drag racing.

However, Force also expressed concern for his daughter's safety, particularly after witnessing her involvement in a scary crash during an NHRA event on Sunday. "As a father, I can't help but worry about her well-being," he said. "I understand her decision to retire, but it's still tough to see her leave the sport."

Courtney Force has been a formidable force in NHRA drag racing, following in the footsteps of her father and sisters, Ashley Force Hood and Brittany Force. She has won 16 career events and held the title of NHRA Funny Car Champion in 2016. Her retirement marks the end of an era for the Force family in the sport.
